The $199 Lease Deals for December

From Edmunds.com

Although average vehicle prices continue to edge steadily upward, it's still possible to drive a brand-new car for about $199 per month. At any given time, many lease offers are clustered around that price, and smart shoppers can often find bargains for even less.

Here are some examples of lease deals currently advertised on manufacturer or dealership websites at or near $199 per month. Some aren't available in all regions of the United States, so check with dealerships in your area to find the best deals available near you. Most of these offers end on or near the last day of the month.

For comparison's sake, we've added up the total advertised cost of each lease from beginning to end and further calculated the cost per mile, assuming that you use the full mileage allowance. But keep an eye out for additional charges, such as acquisition and lease-end disposition fees that may not be advertised or that only show up in fine print. Note that many of these premium deals may be available only to customers with sterling credit ratings or those with current leases. Remember, also, that the quoted monthly lease payments do not include sales tax and other fees.

Not all leases are structured exactly the same. Some ask for more money up front but have lower monthly payments, and some are the opposite. Try to find a lease that strikes a balance considering the miles you drive and your desire for a low monthly payment and low upfront fees. Always ask for the total out-the-door price, then add up the entire cost of the lease and compare those numbers before making a decision.
